- Rinse while warm: once the pot is safe to handle, rinse it with hot water to loosen residue before it dries. Keep water away from the controller and electrical connections.
- Acid wash: a vinegar or citric acid solution clears tarnish and buildup. Rinse well afterward.
- Dry completely: leave the cap off so the 20 gallon pot can air dry inside.
- Check the probe: wipe the temperature probe clean so the PID controller keeps reading accurately.
