Good to know
We've been building and selling stills since 1980, and this 6 gallon copper moonshine still with thumper and worm carries every lesson from those years. It's a three-piece traditional setup made from heavy 20 oz., 22 gauge copper. It's ready for a beginner's first runs, or for regular use as a spirit still by permitted distillers.
What makes a copper still built to last?
It starts with the copper sheet. We buy ours directly from Paul Revere Copper Co., and we never use cheap roofing copper that can contain lead. Heavy copper holds its shape, and a clean source means you can trust the metal your wash touches.
- Heavy gauge: 20 oz., 22 gauge copper throughout the build.
- Traditional trio: pot, thumper and worm, so the vapor gets an extra pass before it condenses.
- Fair price for heavy copper: we've invested in our own cutting machinery and buy copper in bulk, and we pass those savings on to you.
- Want exact dimensions or fitting sizes? Contact us and we'll share the details so you can plan your space.
Decades in, we still think every run is an experiment worth doing well. Owning a still is legal in the US, but making spirits requires federal TTB permits. Water, essential oils and fuel alcohol are all good reasons to fire up copper, too.
